I wish I thought of this one …. the Pink Ladies cab service in the UK is serving the needs of women who choose to travel in safety and luxury. You just have to watch the news at night to become paranoid about hijacking, assaults, and so on. It really can be scary to be a woman traveling alone at night - especially if you’re waiting in the dark for a bus or cab! These are some of the services that this company is offering to women:
- women-only drivers who are trained in self-defense and first aid
- the driver waits for you to arrive safely inside of your destination before they drive away
- clearly marked cars and uniforms - even the inside interior is pink leather!
- each car has satellite tracking
- no cash transactions - everything is plastic, pre-paid, or by an account
- the company text messages you to tell you they are outside - so you can wait inside
- women and children only can be passengers
I wonder if this service will come to North America ?! I know there are some of you guys out there thinking ‘women-driver’ jokes right now …..
