HappyFish Design now offers design layout service for matted style albums
Due to popular demand HappyFish Design is now offering album design layout for top-of-the-line matted style albums - such as Queensberry and Leather Craftsmen. Photographers have been responding strongly to the way that I layout digital albums and felt that I had that eye and intuition to layout matted albums as well. Matted albums have been seen as rather ‘traditional’ and have been lately a bit overshadowed by the surgence of digital flush-style and/or magazine-coffee table type books. However, they are coming back in style. Many photographers that I talk to are leaning toward simpler and elegant designs that focus on the photography. I had a meeting with Dan at Leather Craftsmen this past week and he mentioned that he has seen a lot of albums coming in with one image per page again. Very interesting! Today’s modern matted albums have the ability to combine not only pano, 3/4 pano, half pano or letterbox style apertures — but also a digital style composition within the album as well. Full bleed as well …. not just a composition stuffed within a large matt opening. Queensberry is doing this with their DUO albums and Leather Craftsmen offers the flexibility of creating whatever custom look that you can dream.
